Abstract: Under the dual effects of technological progress and guidance of policies, solar energy and wind energy have become fastest developed renewable energy in recent years. The cost of electric power generation drops quickly while the market competitiveness is continually on the rise. Solar energy and wind energy have become the main body for incremental installed capacity of electric power and will develop into the main body of existing installed capacity. International oil majors have obviously increase their investment for solar energy and wind energy in the past two years though their investment in this area is different from time to time. Based on capital operation, they cooperate with the leading enterprises for a win-win development. The solar energy and wind energy application projects launched by China’s oil companies can help themselves reduce the cost and discharge and promote transformation of the company. It is proposed that the oil companies should increase renewable energy power consumption, promote natural gas power development in harmony with renewable energy, and actively launch offshore wind power projects. They should cooperate with other energy enterprises to bring about transformation from oil and gas suppliers to energy suppliers.
