Abstract: The development trends of world fuel ethanol industry in major countries such as USA, Brazil, the European Union and China are analyzed in this paper. The results show that the pace of fuel ethanol industry is slowed down in recent years, mainly due to the impact of global financial crisis. The United States and Brazil are the world's first and second largest fuel ethanol producers respectively, and their growth in ethanol production and consumption drops significantly. Although fuel ethanol has witnessed a rapid development in the EU members, its total production and share in bio-fuels are still very low. China has paid high attention to the development of fuel ethanol industry and it now has been ranking the third in the world's third largest fuel ethanol producers. Based on the situation status, it is suggested that China focus on technology R&D of fuel ethanol industry, break industrial bottlenecks and take into full account of the fundamental realities of vast population and limited land area, and rationally control the scale and pace of fuel ethanol industry.

摘要： 文章分析了世界燃料乙醇的主要发展国家——美国、巴西、欧盟和我国的发展动态,认为该产业近年来受世界金融危机的影响发展步伐总体趋缓。美国和巴西,作为位居世界燃料乙醇行业前列的国家,其产量和消费量增速近年均明显变缓;欧盟各国燃料乙醇产业虽然快速发展,但总量不大,在生物燃料总的份额中所占比例很低;我国对燃料乙醇产业的发展较为积极,进行了一些试点和产业化示范,产量位居世界第三位。文章提出,我国在发展燃料乙醇产业方面应注重技术研发,突破产业化瓶颈,并充分考虑我国人多地少的基本国情,合理控制燃料乙醇产业的发展规模和产业化步伐。
