Abstract: Patent technology is an index for appraisal of research and development activities, which reflects the development level and trend in a certain technological area. It is necessary to analyze and study the current conditions, characteristics and development trend of global oil and gas patent technology. It is of both tactic significance and important strategic reference value to China’s oil enterprises in their technological creation strategy. Therefore, based on analysis of statistical figures, we should study the situation of global oil and gas research and development activities, production of patents of various countries and the focus research areas and quantities of patents owned by international oil majors and technological service companies. Efforts should be made for analysis of patent distribution of foreign major companies. This article points out that research activities of international oil majors are focused on the downstream sector of the oil industry while technological service companies are concentrated in the upstream exploration and development area. The former is focused on the oil and gas market while the latter aims at resources countries. It is noticed that research activities are becoming more and more opening, cooperative and reciprocating.

摘要： 专利技术是度量研发活动的一项指标,可折射出某一技术领域的发展水平和发展趋势。对全球油气领域专利技术的现状、特征及发展趋势进行分析研究是十分必要的,它不仅具有战术意义,而且对于我国石油企业制定技术创新战略具有重要的战略参考价值。据此,依据数量统计分析研究了全球油气领域研发活动态势、各国专利产出情况以及国际大石油公司、技术服务公司重点研发的领域和专利拥有量;分析了国外大公司的专利布局。文中认为,国际大石油公司的研发活动多以石油工业下游为主,而技术服务公司则侧重于上游勘探开发领域;在布局上,前者侧重全面主要油气市场;后者则侧重于资源国。值得注意的是,研发活动向开放、合作、相互渗透的方向发展。
