Abstract: With the unceasing intensification of global lubricant market, China, one of the countries with rapidly growing lubricant market, is gaining popularity from lubricant producers of developed countries. They use patents a tool to control technologies and hold the market. So how could Chinese enterprises do? This paper introduces the distribution of patented technologies in the field of lubricants to provide some reference for our enterprises to select the main direction of their business. Global patented lubricant technologies have entered maturity period, with a stable output and highly concentrated in Japan, the United States and other developed countries. China, with the most rapid growth in patent application, has become a focus of competition among transnational lubricant producers.
