Abstract: The producing degree of oil in place is one of the important indexes in oilfield development. The two-section thickness gauge algorithm has been used over a long period of time, but it is limited only to the artificial water-flooded oil reservoirs and the reservoirs that can be tested for water-absorbing section and liquid-producing section. Few people pay attention to the algorithm for producing degree of geological reserves from other types of oil driving or reservoirs. There is a variety of geological reserves thanks to certainty and influential factors, leading to complexity of producing degree of geological reserves. Use of production data in a certain period for calculation of recoverable reserves can reflect the waves of producing geological reserves during that period of time. Then, the producing degree of geological reserves can be calculated on the basis of oil driving efficiency. This method is simple, efficient and convenient. The actual calculation cases confirm that this method is feasible. The article also discusses the suitability of this method and the related issues concerned at the time of calculation.
