Optical Fiber Early-warning System for Pipeline Safety

摘要: 为解决日益严峻的油气管道第三方破坏问题,研制开发了光纤管道安全预警系统。该系统利用管道同沟敷设的通信光缆构建长距离分布式光纤传感器,连续实时监测管道沿线一定范围内的土壤振动情况,通过对拾取振动信号的分析完成土壤振动事件定位和类型识别,实现了对人为或机械动土施工等可能威胁管道安全的事件产生报警并及时通知管道维护人员,避免管道安全事故的发生。实验室测试和现场应用结果表明,系统监测灵敏度较高,能够准确定位管道沿线的土壤振动事件,定位误差小于20m。

Abstract: Optical fiber early-warning system for pipeline safety is developed, which can solve the serious issue that the oil and gas pipelines are damaged by a third party. The system uses optical communications cable buried in the same ditch of the pipeline as the distributed vibration sensor to real-time monitor soil vibration within a certain area along the pipeline. It can acquire and analyze vibration signals to determine location of vibration and type of incident. The system can send alarm for timely maintenance once the pipeline is under artificial or mechanical damage, keeping the pipeline from safety accidents. The results of laboratory test and field application indicate that this system is highly sensitive and able to accurately locate soil vibration incidents along the pipeline with the locating error limited to less than 20 meters.
