Feng Fang, Xu Sheng-hui, Xu Min
    2010, 29(1): 65-70.  DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1002-302x.2010.01.016
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2399KB) ( )
Russia is rich in hydrocarbon resources, and it holds the seventh and first position by proved oil and gas reserves respectively in the world. As the level of political trust between China and Russia continues to improve, the consensus of cooperation between the two countries on the upstream and downstream integration in the petroleum industry has been deepening. Oil and gas are regarded as strategic resources, and the Russian government continues to strengthen the control and supervision for its maximum political and economic interests. With the continuous enhancement of the old oilfields exploitation in West Siberia, Volga-Urals and other western regions, the Russian government tries to find some new energy support area to replace them. Oil and gas resources in Eastern Siberia are very huge, but the rate of proved reserves remains very low. With the completion of Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean oil pipeline, this region will become an important support area which can bring steady growth of oil and gas reserves and production in the future. The Eastern Siberia is adjacent to our country with a very important geographic advantage. It should become one of the considerable areas on the new project development in the upstream oil and gas field for the future. Key words:Russia; oil and gas cooperation
