Abstract: M-1 SWACO LLC is a world-class professional petroleum engineering service company and an international leader in drilling fluid technology. The drilling fluid patents filed by the company climbed after 1971 and peaked around 2008. It has applied 45 patents of drilling fluid worldwide related to wellbore stability control, which are focused on drilling fluid additives and systems. As for the amine additives, M-1 SWACO LLC has developed a full-scale patent-protection. Analyzing the core patents of this company by means of the patent map, this paper elaborates M-I SWACO LLC’s patent protecting strategy, helping the domestic companies broaden their mindset of technological development and step up protection of their patents.

摘要: M-I SWACO公司是世界一流的专业化石油工程服务公司,钻井液技术处于国际领先水平。1971年以来公司钻井液专利申请数量振荡上升,到2008年前后达到顶峰;围绕控制井壁稳定钻井液技术,公司在全球申请45件专利,其中专利保护集中于钻井液处理剂与体系。针对胺类处理剂,M-I SWACO形成了比较全面的专利保护。采用专利地图分析了该公司的专利技术主题分布情况;利用引证树形象化地显示出专利引用在先专利和被其后专利引证的信息。通过分析核心专利,借鉴专利申请策略,有助于国内企业拓宽技术开发思路,增强技术保护程度。
